Art as Active Learning
Date(s): June 9-13, 2014; Mon-Fri; 8:30 AM-2:30 PM; JC 222Art as Active Learning (Chris Triner) Make a grade 6-12 visual art classroom a fully functioning “active classroom.” Methods of how to incorporate writing, brainstorming, response (critique), simple technology, and art history as a way to motivate your learners to fully understand lessons will be investigated. Look at how your lessons can accommodate your entire student’s learning objectives. Participants will have at least half of each class to work in studio to experiment with concepts. A daily critique of your own work and how it can impact your students will round out each day. Supply fee of $35.00 to be paid to instructor on first day of class. (2 graduate credit hours)
