ArtWorks Manager                                                                                                              

Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio (YANEO) is seeking a manager for the ArtWorks program.  ArtWorks, a program of YANEO since 2005, is an arts-based job training program for area high-school students designed to develop 21st Century skills for college and the workplace through apprenticeships in the arts.  The Manager works closely with YANEO administrative staff, professional teaching artists and teen-age apprentices.  Apprentice programs may include theater, film/photography, music, dance, recording arts, visual arts, architecture/design, video game design, culinary arts, and/or fashion/costume design.  The manager reports to the YANEO Director of Programs.

ArtWorks takes place at the Halle Building in downtown Cleveland and at the Tri-C Metro Campus.  The program operates year-round in three separate sessions: After school sessions operate at the Halle Building only for 12 weeks September – December, and January – April, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30PM – 730PM; the summer session operates at both sites, for 6 weeks, June – July, Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, some Saturdays and evenings maybe required. 

The ArtWorks Manager oversees the entire ArtWorks program and coordinates the day-to-day operations on-site of the after-school sessions, maintaining open communication among Young Audiences staff, artists, apprentices and supporting partners. 

Responsibilities:
·         Oversees the recruitment, interviewing and hiring process for apprentices and teaching artists for each session to ensure broad access to the program.
·         Manages the daily operations of ArtWorks.
·         Works closely with Development staff and Executive Director to maintain ongoing financial support.
·         Adheres to the vision of ArtWorks as a youth development program.
·         Monitors and evaluates teaching artists to ensure program goals of college and career readiness.
·         Coordinates multiple program events within ArtWorks – open houses, culminating events.
·         Advocates for ArtWorks in the community and develops new collaborations and partnerships to increase awareness and visibility.
·         Communicates important updates and information among apprentices, teaching artists, parents, the public, and YANEO.
·         Monitors and supports program-wide adherence to ArtWorks policies and procedures.
·         Supervises and documents the security and safety of the ArtWorks site, materials, and participants.
·         Develops, distributes, and collects ArtWorks information for marketing.
·         Participates in and directs ongoing program evaluation.
·         Assists with specific projects as necessary, including administrative tasks before, during and after the program.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities.
Excellent skills in written and oral communication
Creative problem solver with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in event coordination, complex schedule management, and leadership of young adults. 
Proficient user of PC’s, including Microsoft Office, Publisher, Photoshop, and database management.

Education Associate                                                                                                             

The Education Associate is responsible for coordinating and implementing many of the educational components of YANEO.  These efforts are designed to strengthen links to the educational community and address the long-term goals of the organization.  The Education Associate reports to the Director of Programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
·         Assists in the planning, scheduling and implementation of all projects and activities of the Education Department including arts integrated program planning and development and artist and teacher professional development programs.
·         Provides support for artist recruiting process, education department committees, artist/teacher professional development, and department special events/projects.
·         Assists in, as a team member of the education department, general program scheduling, data entry for educational activities, and preparation and completion of contracts to artists and schools.
·         Works with Director of Programs to maintain and create education materials appropriate to each artist on the YANEO roster.
·         Provides assistance for education department meetings and workshops, including venue identification and contracting, room set-up needs, presenter needs, food service, agendas, handout materials, etc.
·         Participates in the planning, implementation and on-site coordination for YANEO Professional Development meetings and workshops (some Saturdays and evenings required). 
·         Plans, designs and implements programming for numerous contributed income partnerships, in communities in northeast Ohio. Manages budgets, reporting, documentation and evaluation.
·         Facilitates implementation of the Arts for Learning initiative in schools. 
·         Other duties and activities as assigned.
·         Manages the Young Audiences Art is Education projects
·         Long-term contributed income partnerships

Job Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor’s degree with two years experience in art/education or related field.
Strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities.
Experience in one or more arts forms a plus.
Creative problem solver with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient user of PC’s and Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Publisher, and Excel, and database management.

Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with that of similar organizations and ability and experience of candidate.

Teacher Workshop & Open House at the Massillon Museum 8/29



The Massillon Museum will be holding a teacher workshop and open house on
August 29th, 2013 to coincide with their "SNAP! Warhol" exhibition.
Educators who attend will get to go behind the scenes of the museum,
receive an education packet with ODE connected lesson plans, and connect
with museum staff about FREE Tours and Outreach activities.

2013 Wooster Arts Jazz Fest - Artist Application Info


You are invited to submit an application to the Wooster Arts Jazz Fest (WAJF) which features a juried fine art and crafts festival, jazz, quality food, a traditional New Orleans-style parade, and free children’s arts activities.

SHOW DATE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2013 from 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

MEDIAArtists may enter any of the following media: ceramics, digital art, drawing, enamel, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood. All work exhibited is to be the original work of the artist. Quality commercial reproductions of the original work may be displayed and sold. Reproductions must be signed editions and labeled “reproduction.” Any exhibiting photographer must print photographs. Molded ceramics must be made from artist-designed molds.
Artists displaying work not consistent with these requirements or with submitted images will be asked to remove disputed work. The WAJF committee reserves the right to close any booth that is not in compliance with these policies.
 

AWARDS
Artist works will be judged by independent, on-site jurors beginning at 11:00 a.m., and ribbons will be awarded by 2:30 p.m.

7 Juror’s Awards...... $100 each


SERVICES TO ARTISTS
• Booth sitters will be available. Sign-up at the information tent.
• A hospitality area will be provided with refreshments.
• A regional marketing campaign to promote WAJF art and artists. The WAJF program features each artist’s name, booth space, and media, plus a map of the WAJF area and a program of activities.
• Free promotional postcards available in advance to help promote artists at this show.


ENTRY PROCEDURE: All artist must submit the following:
1. Completed 2013 Artist Application Form
2. One image of booth and three images of work labeled with Artist name, medium, dimensions. The WAJF will only accept digital images. Please provide a CD with four images in JPEG format, 100 DPI or less, approximately 1 MB (please do not submit Flash, PowerPoint, or Kodak picture CDs), along with a list that includes artist name, medium, and dimensions. Unless accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope, CDs will not be returned.
3. Single (10’ x 10’) booth fee: $50 + $20 application fee = $70
Double (20’ x 10’) booth fee: $50 + $20 application fee = $110
