2020 YAM and YPAE Submission Info and Link

OAEA is proud to sponsor the The Young People's Art Exhibition (YPAE) and the Youth Art Month (YAM) exhibition in conjunction with Youth Art Month in March.

It's time to start thinking about which pieces of student art you want to submit for Youth Art Month and Young People’s Art Exhibition shows.

East Region members can submit two student works from grades K-8. One piece will be chosen for YPAE and another for the YAM show.

December 15, 2019 will be the deadline for online submissions! Actual artwork needs to be turned in by the end of December to Terri, Candice, or Sarah.

OAEA members may submit artwork here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdXw6DtIfaRasRCLeG-ORlCXWU26FJxb85KYRHzlDFW-40KOA/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1

Rules for submitting artwork to the YAM and YPAE exhibitions

Matting Requirements:
All works must be matted with a good quality mat board or pebble board. Do not use thin papers or poster board for matting.
Minimum mat width is to be 3 inches all the way around. This helps to accommodate the labels that we need to put on the art. Relief work must be matted and may not be more than 2 inches in depth.
Maximum OUTSIDE EDGE mat size is 24 X 30 inches.
YAM show will accept 3-D works only if it is clearly marked and ready to be displayed.
All work is to be backed with foam core board or double thickness cardboard to prevent warping during shrink-wrapping.
Identification of Pieces:

Each artwork must have an entry form completed and taped to the back of the piece. This was e-mailed to you after you submitted your artwork online.
Mark the TOP of the artwork by writing TOP. This ensures that it will be displayed properly.
Include your name, region, school and students name on the back of the artwork, in case the form falls off or is damaged.
Other Info:

Any work that can smear and cause damage to other mats needs to be sprayed and wrapped in newsprint, etc for transport.
Work should be from only one student, no group entries.
Works may be rejected at the state level because of messy mats, etc.
Students whose work is selected for the show will be mailed a congratulations letter, info and invitation for the recognition ceremony. The student’s teacher will also be notified via e-mail to attend.
Take a good quality photo of each work that you are submitting. This photo will be needed for online submission of the art and will be used for Artsonia.
